Instrumen Pembayaran

Kak Lina menaiki LRT ke kolej. Pak Cik Ah Kow membeli kuih di pasar malam. Puan Devi membayar yuran tuisyen anaknya dari rumah.
Adakah mereka membayar dengan cara yang sama?

Instrumen Pembayaran
ways to pay = instrumen pembayaran We do not always pay with cash. There are many ways: debit card, credit card, Internet banking, prepaid card, e-wallet, cheque and postal order. Different situations suit different ways: a debit card at a petrol station, a credit card at an online bookshop, an e-wallet at the school canteen. Example: at a bookshop you can pay with cash or a debit card. Watch out: every way has advantages and things to be careful about.
Instrumen pembayaran (1)

Tunai, kad dan Internet

Tunai
ways to pay (1) = instrumen pembayaran Cash is paying directly with notes and coins. With a debit card, the money comes straight out of your savings account. A credit card lets you buy now and pay the bank later; it is borrowing, so pay it all back on time. Internet banking lets you pay bills or transfer money from your bank account online. Example: paying for shoes with a debit card reduces the account at once. Watch out: a credit card is a debt, so use it carefully.
Instrumen pembayaran (2)

Prabayar, e-dompet, cek dan wang pos

Kad prabayar
Isi nilai (tambah nilai) dahulu, kemudian guna, contohnya untuk tol.
E-dompet
Bayar dengan aplikasi telefon, contohnya imbas kod QR.
Cek
ways to pay (2) = instrumen pembayaran A prepaid card is topped up first and the amount used is taken off; it is common at tolls and on public transport. An e-wallet is a phone app: scan a QR code to pay without cash. A cheque is a written instruction telling the bank to pay a stated amount from an account. A postal order is bought at the post office to send money to a named person. Example: a prepaid card can pay the parking fee at a car-park exit. Watch out: top up the prepaid card when its value runs out.
Padankan

Situasi dan instrumen pembayaran

choose the right way = pilih instrumen yang sesuai For every situation ask two questions: where is the money paid, and what does the payer have with them: cash, a card, a phone or a bank account? Then recall the features of each way to pay from the two screens before, and find the one that fits both answers best. Match the ones you are surest of first. Example: filling up at a petrol station, on the spot with a bank card → a debit card works; buying at an online bookshop from home → a credit card works. Watch out: some situations allow more than one way, so pick the most suitable; each way is used only once.
Pilih

choose by the conditions = pilih mengikut syarat First list the conditions in the question one by one: where the money is paid, where the money is kept, whether debt is allowed and whether cash is carried. Then recall the features of each way to pay and test it against every condition; only a way that meets all of them is right. Example: Amin buys books at a book fair with only his phone and no cash, so the conditions are on the spot, by phone, no cash: look for a way that pays by phone. Watch out: meeting one or two conditions is not enough; check every condition.
Berhati-hati

Guna instrumen pembayaran dengan selamat

Nombor PIN
Rahsiakan. Jangan beritahu sesiapa.
Semak jumlah
Baca jumlah pada skrin sebelum membayar.
Kad kredit
Bayar penuh tepat pada masanya.
Kad prabayar
Tambah nilai sebelum perjalanan.
paying safely = bayar dengan selamat Be careful when paying by card or phone: never tell anyone your PIN; read the amount on the screen before paying; pay the credit card in full and on time so the debt does not grow; top up the prepaid card before a trip so it has enough at the toll. Example: cover the keypad with your hand when typing your PIN. Watch out: never tell your PIN to someone who calls and asks for it.
