300 tahun ÷ 100 = 3 abad
40 abad = 40 × 100 = 4 000 tahun
4 000 tahun ÷ 1 000 = 4 alaf

先换成年 = tukar kepada tahun dahulu 三十个 dekad，每个十年，三十乘十等于三百年；三百年里有三个一百年，所以是三个 abad。四十个 abad，每个一百年，四十乘一百等于四千年；四千年里有四个一千年，所以是四个 alaf。例子：50 abad = 5 000 tahun = 5 alaf。注意：每十个 dekad 是一个 abad，每十个 abad 是一个 alaf。
