小数点对齐 = titik perpuluhan selajur 二不够除以四，商的个位写零，接着在商里点上小数点，和被除数的小数点对齐。把二和四合起来看成二十四个零点一，二十四除以四得六，所以是零点六公斤。 例子：3.5 ÷ 5 = 0.7。 注意：个位不够除时，商的个位写 0。

write zeros and keep dividing = tulis sifar dan terus bahagi 3 ÷ 4 is too small, so write 3 as 3.00 with zeros after the point. 30 tenths ÷ 4 = 7 remainder 2; bring down the next zero to make 20, and 20 ÷ 4 = 5 with no remainder. The answer is 0.75. Example: 1 ÷ 8 = 0.125. Watch out: the zeros go after the decimal point and do not change the value.

商中间的 0 = sifar dalam hasil bahagi 四十二除以六得七；小数点对齐后，移下二，二比六小，不够除，商的十分位要写零；再移下四成二十四，二十四除以六得四。答案 7.04。如果漏写零，就会变成 7.4，差很多。 例子：18.06 ÷ 3 = 6.02。 注意：每移下一位，商就要写一位数字。

The answer is 7.04. Without the zero it would be 7.4, which is very different. Example: 18.06 ÷ 3 = 6.02. Watch out: every digit you bring down gives one digit in the answer.

When you reach the decimal point, put the point in the quotient directly above it, then bring down the tenths and carry on. Check by multiplying the quotient by the divisor. Example: 7.5 ÷ 5: 7 ÷ 5 = 1 remainder 2, put in the point, 25 ÷ 5 = 5, giving 1.5. Watch out: the point in the quotient must line up with the point in the number being divided.

divide by one hundred = bahagi seratus When dividing by 10, 100 or 1 000 the digits stay the same and the point moves left: one place for 10, two for 100, three for 1 000. If you run out of digits, write zeros in front, including a 0 in the ones. Example: 36.4 ÷ 100 = 0.364; 5.8 ÷ 100 = 0.058. Watch out: dividing makes a number smaller, so the point moves left; moving it right is multiplying.
