约简比较 = permudahkan dan banding 两个算式的被乘数都是 480，只是乘数和除数不同。分别把乘数除以除数，看看两个算式各等于 480 乘几，再比较这两个数。 例子：70 × 8 ÷ 4 和 70 × 12 ÷ 3 → 70 × 2 和 70 × 4，不相等。 注意：乘数比较大，不代表整个算式比较大，因为除数也可能比较大。

simplify and compare = permudahkan dan banding Both sentences start with 480; only the multiplier and the divisor differ. Divide each multiplier by its divisor to see what 480 is multiplied by in each sentence, then compare those numbers. Example: 70 × 8 ÷ 4 and 70 × 12 ÷ 3 become 70 × 2 and 70 × 4, so they are not equal. Watch out: a bigger multiplier does not mean a bigger result, because the divisor may be bigger too.

不相等的情况 = apabila tidak sama 两个算式的被乘数一样，所以只要比较“乘数 ÷ 除数”得到的数。分别算出这两个数：哪一个比较大，哪一个算式的结果就比较大；如果相等，两个算式就一样大。 例子：50 × 8 ÷ 2（等于 50 × 4）比 50 × 9 ÷ 3（等于 50 × 3）大。 注意：约简以后再比较，不必把两个大积都算出来。

when they are not equal = apabila tidak sama Both sentences start with the same number, so compare only multiplier ÷ divisor. Work out that number for each: the bigger one gives the bigger result, and if they are the same, the sentences are equal. Example: 50 × 8 ÷ 2 (which is 50 × 4) is bigger than 50 × 9 ÷ 3 (which is 50 × 3). Watch out: simplify before comparing; there is no need to work out both big products.

找出约简后的数 = cari nombor selepas dipermudahkan 等号两边都有 1 250，所以右边方格里的数，就是左边的乘数和除数约简以后剩下的数：用乘数除以除数。 例子：300 × 20 ÷ 4 = 300 × □ → 20 ÷ 4 = 5，□ 就是 5。 注意：填好方格后，把数代回原式，两边都算一算，看看是否真的相等。

the number after simplifying = cari nombor selepas dipermudahkan Both sides start with 1 250, so the box on the right holds what is left after simplifying the multiplier and divisor on the left: divide the multiplier by the divisor. Example: 300 × 20 ÷ 4 = 300 × □; 20 ÷ 4 = 5, so the box holds 5. Watch out: after filling the box, put the number back into the sentence and work out both sides to check they are equal.
