密码 = kod rahsia；线索 = petunjuk 这道动脑题要用数位和数值的知识来破解一个五位数密码。每条线索都告诉我们某个数字站在哪一位，或者它值多少。一条一条读，把数字放进数位表，最后五格都填满就是答案。 例子：线索“数字 9 的数值是 900”表示 9 在百位。 注意：先做最确定的线索，剩下的格子再用其他线索来决定。
secret code = kod rahsia; clue = petunjuk This puzzle uses place value and digit value to crack a five-digit code. Each clue tells us where a digit stands or how much it is worth. Read the clues one by one, put each digit in a place value table, and when all five boxes are filled you have the code. Example: the clue 'the digit value of 9 is 900' means 9 is in the hundreds place. Watch out: start with the clues that are certain, then use the other clues for the boxes left.

fill the certain places = isi tempat yang pasti Clue 1 gives the place directly: 1 is in the ten thousands. Clue 2 gives the digit value 6 000, which has three zeros, so 6 is in the thousands. Clue 3 says the place value of 4 is ones. Each clue fills one box, leaving the hundreds and tens. Example: 'the digit value of 2 is 20' means 2 is in the tens place. Watch out: for a digit value, count the zeros after the digit to find its place.

填剩下的格子 = isi tempat yang tinggal 还空着的是百位和十位，剩下的数字是 5 和 0。第 4 条说 5 在 0 的左边，左边的格子是百位，所以 5 在百位，0 在十位。五格填满，密码就出来了，最后再把每条线索检查一次。 例子：剩下 3 和 8，线索说 8 在右边，那么 3 在百位、8 在十位。 注意：“左边”指的是较大的数位。

The box on the left is the hundreds, so 5 goes there and 0 goes in the tens. Now all five boxes are filled; check every clue once more. Example: if 3 and 8 are left and 8 is on the right, then 3 is in the hundreds and 8 in the tens. Watch out: 'on the left' means the bigger place.

一条一条破解 = selesaikan satu demi satu 屏幕上有五条线索，要找出符合全部线索的密码。先画一个五格的数位表。直接说出数位的线索先填；给出数值的线索，数一数数值后面有几个 0 来决定数位；最后一条“剩下的位置”放在还空着的格子里。填满后再逐条核对。 例子：线索“数值 40 000”有四个 0，表示 4 在万位；“数值 60”表示 6 在十位。 注意：数值和数位容易看混，数 0 的时候要仔细；填完一定要把所有线索再检查一次。
solve one clue at a time = selesaikan satu demi satu There are five clues; find the code that fits all of them. Draw a five-box place value table. Fill the clues that name a place first. For a clue that gives a digit value, count its zeros to find the place. The last digit goes in the box that is still empty. Then check every clue again. Example: a digit value of 40 000 has four zeros, so 4 is in the ten thousands; a value of 60 puts 6 in the tens. Watch out: place value and digit value are easy to mix up, so count zeros carefully and recheck all clues.

检查线索 = semak petunjuk 题目已经给出密码，要找出哪一条线索说得对。做法：把密码写进数位表，记下每个数字的数位和数值；然后拿每条线索去核对，看它说的数位或数值和表上的是否一样。 例子：密码 36 047 → 4 在十位，数值 40；如果线索说“4 的数值是 400”，那就不对。 注意：“数位”回答位置名称，“数值”回答带 0 的数，核对时别把两种说法混在一起。
check the clues = semak petunjuk The code is given; find the clue that is true. Write the code in a place value table and note each digit's place and value. Then test each clue against the table. Example: in the code 36 047 the 4 is in the tens place with value 40, so a clue saying its value is 400 would be false. Watch out: a place value is a place name and a digit value is a number with zeros; do not mix the two when checking.
